Real Action Pro Wrestling (RAPW) started out as Real Action Wrestling (RAW) under the guidance of Frankie Andoling (Bernie) in 2006. RAW ran shows every Tuesday night at the Shamrock Nite Club in Barberton, Ohio. Being one of the only wrestling promotions in the area, fans came out every Tuesday to enjoy the action. Over the years a lot of talent has come through the doors of RAW, including Raymond Rowe (ROH), Sami Callihan (WWE's Solomon Crowe) Tyrone "Tyson Tarver" Evans (WWE's Michael Tarver), Shane Taylor (ROH), Cleveland great JT Lightning, Doink the Clown, and countless others. It has also served as a place where the young, up and comers could showcase their abilities and get their feet wet, so to speak.
In 2012, Frankie stepped down, and RAW went under new management, becoming Real Action Pro Wrestling, still carrying on the tradition of being a place where the new talent could get experience, as well as a mixture of veterans to help along the way, and create a “home.” RAPW also entertained the idea of doing monthly Saturday shows, utilizing their regular Tuesday shows to build up to the big events. |

Sadly, in July of 2013, right before RAPW presented their big Saturday show, “Hot Summer Fights,” the Shamrock Nite Club suffered damages from a flooding accident, causing them to shut down for many months while repairs were being made. In the process it caused an immediate halt to the RAPW action. After much deliberation, the Shamrock unfortunately had to be closed permanently, and eventually torn down due to the damages to catastrophic to repair. This left RAPW without a home.
That was, until November of 2013 when RAPW moved to Youngstown and started a new venture. They have stopped running their weekly shows, however they still run monthly shows at St. Joseph the Provider in Campbell, Ohio. With January 2016, RAPW has moved to The Highland Center in Struther, Ohio. More exciting changes will be coming as the company continues to grow and expand. Keep your eyes on the Facebook page and YouTube page to keep up on all the behind the scenes action between shows each month. |
